The show kicked off its new 2nd season with Rana Gujral, CEO of Behavioral Signals, discussing with Bradley Metrock the company’s origin story, the importance behind sentiment analysis, and the future of voice tech and AI which incorporates technology that helps provide greater context to interactions.

Rana also commented on virtual assistants and the fact that people used to talk to them in a very rude tone. This is because people know that virtual assistants don’t understand the way they feel, he said and promised that VAs will very soon become emotionally aware assistants.

What we do is to understand the “how” something is being said in addition to the “what” part in a conversation. Behavioral Signals is focused on predicting the intent through sentiment analysis – what action a person is going to take in the near future. And we do that at a very high level of accuracy.
