Rana Gujral was interviewed by Chengyi for DIGITLA@INSEAD at the AI Everything conference in Dubai, on artificial intelligence and why machines need empathy.

Rana explains why AI and machines need empathy and how our company’s ultimate goal of emotion recognition and behavioral prediction is to be able to train machines to have empathy. As he says, our interactions with inanimate objects are increasing daily, either that is a speaker like Alexa or any other virtual assistant. What we would expect is to interact with it like with any other human; that means empathy since it is how humans actually interact.
