Our CEO, Rana Gujral, has been nominated to speak at a panel at SXSW 2024 and SXSW EDU 2024. We’re excited for the chance to see him speak on two very important topics that deserve a national spotlight, “AI and Ethics in Defense: A Necessary Discussion” at SXSW Main and “Generative AI & Human Creativity: A New Mindset” at SXSW EDU.

What is the SXSW Panelpicker competition?

Topic: AI and Ethics in Defense: A Necessary Discussion

Summary: As global threats become more sophisticated, AI will become more prevalent in defense operations. During these early stages, it’s important to consider the balance between machine intelligence, human decision-making, and transparency/accountability. This panel will discuss how AI is used alongside human analysis to enhance defense capabilities, as well as the challenges of integrating AI into traditionally human-led operations. It will aim to answer the looming question of “How do we balance the utilization of AI in defense with the need for transparency, accountability, and public interest?” discussing potential regulatory frameworks, ethical guidelines, and partnership models that could strike the right balance. The panel will focus on the necessity of AI in evolving defense tactics, exploring the potential risks of lagging behind and the rewards of staying at the forefront of AI adoption.
